Mitigate the risk of CTE damages for your high-risk sporting code

  • Players know their sport has some injury risk, but...
  • Sport codes doing nothing allows the lawyers to sell the legal option
  • Brain injury becomes chronic from repeated (often-unknown) sub and concussive brain injuries
  • Large CTE-injury damages payouts could be catastrophic
  • Heltech help your sporting code identify concussion injuries, so they don’t become chronic

How Heltech helps sporting codes avoid catastrophic legal payouts risk, for chronic brain injury.

  • By taking the problem out of the game (like Yeates on Brereton in 1989)
  • You enable your sporting code to identify every concussion - at the time of injury, not after
  • Most athletes show no signs of concussion injury at-the-time of the impact
  • Our sensor detects all these impacts, so you know without any doubt!
  • Heltech turn concussion-detection into a performance improvement

Turn concussion-detection into a performance improvement

  • Know when an athlete is highly-likely concussed
  • When you know, they can be tested* and they can get the right rehab to be sharper than ever
  • Get highly accurate g-force and rotational data to understand the injury severity
  • Our sensor tells the athlete, coach or first responders the impact severity, App free

* Definitive testing such as pitch-side, blood mRNA test from a simple finger prick test.

How does concussion-detection become a 'performance-improvement'?

  • Concussions are an invisible, functional injury, so athletes typically have some level of performance impairment without anyone knowing it
  • So a player can make a poor decision that could have an impact on the result of the game, or season           How? Click here
  • Whereas if the team knows who has some form of (sub)concussive injury, you can rehab them or rest them for another player
  • Now your whole team is at its strongest!

* Multifactorial Benchmarking of Longitudinal Player Performance in the Australian Football League - Frontiers study - May 2019

*Scenario: An AFL player is in his defensive back line with minutes to go in the final quarter. He receives a sharp handpass from a teammate and is under pressure from 3 opposition players.  Should he kick short or handball? What is normally instinctive, is now unclear. Maybe he could run into some space past the player to his right and open the play up to kick long…? Flustered, he kicks short. The ball is intercepted by an opposition player who marks it within goal-kicking range. He kicks the goal and they hit the lead.

Little did anyone know but the defensive player had several sub-concussive hits last weekend that has made him not as sharp as he normally is. His valiant effort to play this week has unintentionally led to a loss leading into the finals.

Heltech’s sensor could have alerted the player’s coach so he could be tested and done some rehab and/or rested.
